Woodard Energy Company is a Texas Corporation that has been in business
since 1985. A.E. "Gene" Woodard who owns 100% of the stock in the company, is a geologist, graduating with a Bachelor of Science
degree from the University of Houston in 1951.
He was employed by the Dan J. Harrison Family in 1952 where he later became Chief Geologist, then
Oil and Gas Manager and subsequently, General Manager of Harrison Interests, Ltd. He retired from Harrison Interest, Ltd.
in 1985 to form Woodard Energy Company.
While with Harrison, he managed not only the exploration activities, but also the oil and gas producing
properties. He has been directly associated with the discovery and development of over 200 oil and gas wells operated
by Harrison Interest Ltd., Gruy Petroleum Management, Ozark Exploration, Pioneer Natural Resources, Thompson Petroleum, and
several other oil and gas producers. Gene's areas of expertise range across both the Texas and Louisiana coasts
and parts of West Texas.
Prior to the merger of Mobil and Exxon, Mobil granted to Woodard Energy Company access to all of their
geological and prospect files in Matagorda and Brazoria Counties, Texas. In addition to the files, Woodard was issued
a license to approximately three thousand miles of seismic data in Brazoria and Matagorda Counties. With the use of the ExxonMobil data
over twenty prospective areas have been identified.
Mr. Woodard was a founding director of the Texas Commerce Bank - River Oaks and he is a Certified
Petroleum Geologist No. 85.
